so got a new project brief on tuesday about natural forms, gotta create a piece of furniture inspired by a natural form of some sort. i have been looking at the body and sculptural parts of the body - focusing on the belly button i have started trying to make castings of belly buttons using mod rock and Plasticine but neither worked really so i'm trying to find another way to make it work. i want to study the folds and creases and uniqueness of each diferent casting. i have also been looking at magnified things: microorganisms, body parts, body organs, animal skin, plants.. but i cant decide weather to focus on the surface texture and pattern from the magnified images or the sculptural form of the belly button.. or both! but here are some photos of the starting pages in my book.
